SINCE OPENING IN 2009, A KID'S PLACE HAS TOUCHED THE LIVES OF OVER

1,200 CHILDREN

and more than

500 FAMILIES

A Kid's Place is a unique, state of the art, 60-bed facility for abused, neglected, or abandoned children.  Our children range from newborns to kids ready to age out of the foster care system at 18.  We've provided a home to over 1,300 children in our nine years of operation and assisted over 550 families.  Located on five acres in Brandon, Florida A Kidís Place has five 3,200 square foot homes on an expansive tree-lined campus that provide a safe, home-like environment in a neighborhood setting. We use a live-in house parent model which provides the children with consistent caregivers and family style living. Together with our community partners, A Kid's Place offers:

  • Sibling togetherness
  • A loving family-like environment
  • Coordination of services
  • On-site therapy services
  • Targeted Case Management to support children and their families
  • On-site dental services
  • Educational services
  • On-site pre-kindergarten and toddler programs

We are able to provide professional services to the children without transporting them off-site and we are the first residential group home in the greater Tampa Bay area to be able to provide this level of global servicing on-site. At A Kid's Place, our goal for each child is to provide an enriching experience that will instill hope, encourage growth, and allow for continued healing in a nurturing environment.  We strive to envelop abused, neglected or abandoned kids with love as they navigate the foster care system.  Our goal is to be a supportive bridge between where the children came from and where their next best placement will be.  This might mean reunification with family, placement with relatives, placement in a private foster home that's suited to the needs of the children, or adoption.

A Kid's Place of Tampa Bay provides a safe, loving, and nurturing home to foster children.  Every year on average our volunteers donate over 4800 hours of their time to help our family.  Are you interested in helping to make a difference in the lives of foster children?
